Welcome

Welcome to John H. Reagan Elementary School, home of the Rangers!  Reagan serves approximately 380 students in grades K-5. Reagan is the home campus for the McMagnet 5th grade math and science magnet school, and serves as a satellite campus for the Woodson Pre-K program.
Our students benefit from a quality education that is designed to meet the unique needs of individual learners.  Our teachers emphasize academic achievement, especially in the areas of language arts, math, science, and social studies.  Our students visit the Learning Resource Center and participate in music, PE, and computer technology classes weekly.  Students in grades 2-5 utilize Reasoning Mind, a computer-based math program that is customizable for every child.  They also develop and reinforce their math facts with FASTTMath.  K-2 teachers use the Saxon Phonics program to help students develop a solid foundation in reading.  In addition, teachers in grades 1-5 have specific individualized instruction times when they work with individuals and small groups to help students overcome their identified gaps and accelerate their learning.
Reagan is dedicated to providing every child with a safe, positive learning environment.  Our teachers work with parents and support staff to ensure that our students have the tools they need to be successful.  We also set high expectations for student behavior.  For the 2011-2012 school year, we have implemented a special student incentive program designed to encourage students to attend school regularly, complete their assignments, and respect their peers and teachers.
At Reagan Elementary, we value our children and realize that the future is in their hands.  We work every day to provide them with a solid education that will help them develop into successful citizens and outstanding leaders!
