All 16 AISD elementary campuses have full-day kindergarten programs. Research overwhelmingly shows that a full-day kindergarten program has a positive long-term impact on academic performance.

The Elementary Curriculum Department supports the district’s mission in its commitment to the belief that children come first. Through curriculum, instruction, and professional staff development for teachers, this department strives to enhance the students’ academic experience and promote life-long literacy and learning for all students in Abilene ISD.
