Communities in Schools in sponsored by our Region 14 Service Center
To familiarize new staff and reintroduce others to the mission of CIS, our mission is to partner with various community partners and bring in needed services to help students be successful in school but also in life. Targeted students include those who have failed the TAKS, were retained, attendance problems, behavior problems, social service needs or various other barriers which could hinder them from reaching their full potential. Every six weeks I check the grades, behavior, and attendance of all the students in my program and I try to find ways to help the student to improve in these areas. I will follow-up with these students and attempt to provide services that will compliment the services they currently receive through AISD. If you think a student is a possible candidate for CIS services, you may email me, put a note in my box, or come by my office A6. In addition, one of my duties on campus has been to provide school supplies. I usually have the basics, but I will do my best to get any additional supplies needed. A growing focus for CIS this year will be on improving attendance and we will continue to focus on providing behavior intervention services. In closing, again I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support in enhancing the success of our students.
