The Austin Student  Council organizes events that promote community spirit and sharing.  They also support the school

by hosting special events and using their leadership skills to make a positive impact for everyone.  At the beginning of the

year students have a chance to run for office by getting the signatures of three teachers and then making a speech in front

of their homeroom.  The students above were elected by their peers and have many outside activites that promote helping

others and giving of their time.  Each of these students participates in extracurricular activities and are classroom stars at

Austin.  Recently the 5th grade members attended the STUCO leadership conference in Southlake, Texas.  The sponsors

are Marsha Hammack and Andi Brewington.
