Welcome to Stephen F. Austin Elementary School, home of the Austin Raiders! Since its opening in 1959, Austin has maintained a tradition of excellence that is the trademark of Abilene ISD.
     Located in the Brookhollow neighborhood in southwest Abilene, Austin serves 550 students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. It is the "family atmosphere" at our school that makes it such a special place. The Stephen F. Austin family includes teachers, parents, students and community members working together to make sure that all of our students achieve their full potential. With this winning combination, we hope to continue serving students and making Austin a great place to learn. Our PTO offers many opportunities for volunteering during the school year.  PTO sponsors a Fall Fest, 50's Day, Yearbook, Cultural Arts Contest, Good Citizen Rewards and other activities throughout the year.
     Austin has had a winning tradition and continues to be a leader among Abilene schools.  Austin has received Gold Performance Awards in Reading, Math,Writing, Science and Attendance.  The Texas Business and Education Coalition added Austin Elementary to its Honor Roll Schools in 2007.  This honor goes to less than 5% of Texas Public Schools for demonstrating three years of consistent, high performance in all subjects compared to other schools serving similar student populations. Our theme for 2012 is "Discover Your HIdden Treasures".
