The AISD Special Education Department is committed to providing a positive and supportive educational experience that offers opportunities for success to all students Our Department offers a comprehensive program designed to meet unique individual student needs including a full continuum of services with access to the general education curriculum as well as specialized programs. Our goal is to provide educational opportunities that will empower students to reach their fullest potential in all areas of development by collaborating with parents, teachers, administrators, and the community to insure success. We are committed to providing a caring community of dedicated staff and involved parents who work together to meet the diverse academic, emotional, and social needs of all of our students.

TEA Special Education Survey
For special education campus staff, evaluation staff, administration, teachers, and families:

Abilene ISD is participating in a Cyclical Review of the Special Education Department with the Texas Education Agency. Part of the Cyclical Review is to ask stakeholders to complete a short survey. The survey is anonymous and will help support Abilene ISD by gathering information from all stakeholders to assist TEA to further develop support and resources for AISD. Please take the time to complete the survey at the link below. The first question will ask for AISD’s Education Service Center. Please enter Region 14. Thank you for your collaboration. All surveys are due: 6/3/2024
