• Chrissy Adkins, Librarian

  • An Abilene native, I attended AISD schools and graduated from Abilene High School. In 2006, I graduated with a degree in English Language Arts and Reading from Hardin-Simmons University. I completed a Masters in Library Science in August 2013 from Texas Woman's University.

I have been teaching since 2006. I taught 4th grade Reading and Texas History in Amarillo, Texas, then 5th grade in Snyder, Texas. While in Snyder, I taught Reading and Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and English as a Second Language. I have also taught 6th and 7th grade ELA and 6th grade Math before becoming the librarian for Mann. This is my first year to be back at Abilene High. As Mr. Royce Curtis would say, "Once an eagle, always an eagle!"

Outside of school, I am active in my church where I play the piano and sing in the band. I also sing in a band with my family. During other free time, I love hanging out with my family, reading, and crafting.
