Innovation

  • Academy of Technology, Engineering, and Science (ATEMS), a four-year new tech high school located at Texas State Technical College.

  • Holland Medical High School, a health science campus featuring nursing, pharmacy, and other medical courses located at Hardin-Simmons University.

  • McMurry Magnet School, a 5th grade program with emphasized instruction in math and science located at McMurry University.

  • Abilene Education Foundation, a local non-profit organization that has awarded more than $250,000 in innovative teaching grants and thousands of dollars in student scholarships.

Success

The highest academic performance among urban school districts in West Texas and the only public school district in the Big Country for the past five years to have National Merit finalists. One hundred percent of campuses are rated Acceptable or better.
