Hi! My name is Jenny Putnam, and I am an “Abilene girl”…born and raised in this fine city. My professional career began in 1984 as I was hired to teach children with special needs. From 1984- 2003, I worked with students of all ages and differing abilities. Each teaching assignment was filled with it’s own treasures. In 2003, I began working as the Assistant Director of Early Childhood. Ten years later, in 2013, my role changed. Currently, my position is the Director of Early Childhood.
Every day is a great day to be in Early Childhood. The campuses are places filled with tremendous energy and lots of hugs around the knees. Each year we enroll wide-eyed children who are thirty-six months to forty-eight months of age. From August to May these “little lambs” make delightful transitions from babies to students. They learn so much in a short period of time. Those leaving us for Kindergarten leave confident in who they are and in their academic abilities. On the last day of school they are so proud of themselves and we are equally proud for them.
Come see us some time. You will leave blessed and smiling at the wonders of life through the eyes of Early Childhood.
