Dr. Ketta Garduno

Dr. Ketta Garduno became the Associate Superintendent for Academics and Student Supports in November of 2020.  Prior to her current role, she served as the Abilene ISD Executive Director for Curriculum and Instruction and as the Executive Director for Career and Technical Education.  She began her career as a teacher at Abilene High, was both an elementary and secondary school counselor for many years, and served as principal of Reagan Elementary and the Academy of Technology, Engineering, Math, and Science.  In 2012, she received the Abilene Christian University Mentor Award and in 2017 was named the Region 14 Texas Association of Secondary School Principals Outstanding High School Principal.

Dr. Garduno earned her Bachelor of Science in Education and Master of Education degrees from Abilene Christian University and her Doctor of Philosophy degree from Texas A&M University.  Ketta and her husband have two children.  Their older daughter is the director of the Abilene High Eagle Band, and their younger daughter is a graduate of Abilene High School and currently attends Texas A&M University.
