Jim Garfield

Coach Garfield joined Abilene ISD in May 2022 with 35 years of teaching and coaching experience at both the high school and college levels. His high school coaching stops have been at Socorro HS in El Paso, Rider HS in Wichita Falls, Flour Bluff HS in Corpus Christi, and Elgin HS. His college coaching stops were at Eastern New Mexico University and Midwestern State University.

Before joining TEAM AISD, he was the Assistant Director of Athletics for Lubbock ISD. While in Lubbock, he was responsible for business and personnel and all UIL policies and procedures.

Coach Garfield is extremely excited to be a part of TEAM AISD and believes our AISD coaches throughout the district are top-tier individuals. The AISD coaches, staff, athletes, and parents are a family. The goal of AISD Athletics, under Coach Garfield’s leadership, is to take our student-athletes to places that they have not been before, both academically and athletically.
