High School, Middle School Artists Win Awards

CHS, Clack and Mann students capture awards at West Texas Fair

Seventeen Abilene ISD high school and middle school students earned awards at the 2017 West Texas Fair & Rodeo Creatives Contest held Sept. 8.

Students from Cooper High School whose work placed among the winners were Ashlyn Brock and Sorrell Johnston – 1^st place; Ashlyn Brock, Kaylie Magnuson and Katie Vecchio – 2^nd place; Raylene Deanda and Shashoni McCullough – 3^rd place; Brianna Jones – 4^th place; and Kailie Morin – 5^th place.

In the middle school competition, Clack Middle School students Vanessa Rodriguez (1^st place) and Linda Marshall (3^rd) captured awards. Students from Mann Middle School whose work earned awards were Asheri Ndayikengurukiye and Michael Signor – 1^st place; Jordyn Hendrickson, Rolando Rivera and Victoria Saucedo – 2^nd place; and Lily Etter, 3^rd place.

Art teachers for the students are Sherry Griffith and Amanda Baldwin at Cooper, Jaclyn Burch at Clack and Canon Cavazos at Mann.
