At Dyess Elementary School, we think it’s great to be a fifth grader.

Every year the Dyess fifth graders participate in many field trips and events throughout the school year. It all begins with the Ropes Course at the Abilene State Supported Living Center in October. The course provides Dyess students with opportunities to learn life-long skills and practice working together, resolving conflicts, problem solving, critical thinking and team building.

Dyess fifth graders will also be singing at Lyndale Estates for Veteran’s Day, putting their math and science skills to the test in a physics-based field trip, teaching patriotism with our annual “I Love America” presentation, as well as learning valuable leadership skills through our Service Patrol and Dyess Color Guard programs.
