Diversity and leadership were on display in a major way on Feb. 8 at Lee Elementary School.

The entire student body of almost 500 students had a role to play in “We Lead: A Celebration of Diversity and Leadership,” the school’s Leader in Me open house for parents and the community.

The highlight of the day was a energetic assembly featuring music, skits and the always popular parade of nations. Representing students from 20 countries attending the school and its Newcomer Center, boys and girls marched through the gym with the flag of their home country and greeted the audience of students and guests in their native language.

Student-led campus tours and demonstrations from the Leader in Me program followed the assembly.
