Guest readers, including school board trustees, first responders and city officials, shared their favorite children’s books on March 2 as part of Martinez Elementary’ s celebration of Read Across America. The nationwide literacy campaign sponsored by the National Education Agency celebrated its 20th year in 2018 and is held each year on the birthday of renowned children’s author, Dr. Seuss.
