Thomas Elementary School received some exciting news upon coming back from summer break.

The State of Texas released school accountability “report cards” for the 2017-2018 school year. Thomas Elementary earned all six distinction designations on their state accountability results and earned the state’s highest ranking of Met Standard.

If the state was giving out letter grades, the Texans definitely would get an “A.”

According to Mike Morath, the state’s Commissioner of Education, “Earning one or several campus-level distinctions is notable and should be applauded by a community as an outstanding achievement. For a school to earn every potential distinction applicable to their campus is difficult, but a reflection of some truly amazing work by our educators.”

It’s true. Thomas has an amazing faculty and staff as well as support of parents and community partners, which helps make it a friendly, learning environment.  Kudos to all stakeholders who encourage leadership and learning at Thomas Elementary.  We are part of Abilene ISD as we CONNECT – LEAD – SUCCEED!
