Area veterans and active duty military personnel were the special guests for “I Love America Day” at Dyess Elementary School on May 3.
The guests were in the school gym during a performance of “I Love America 2019 – “Land of a Million Dreams,” which highlights American visionaries and their contributions to our country. The program featured 5th graders dressed as Founding Fathers and Mothers and included a salute to current and former members of our Armed Forces. The entire school sang patriotic songs and waved flags in celebration of America. An all-school parade followed the program
The program and parade included the flags of all branches of the military which were donated by VFW Post 6873.
