ABILENE – Abilene High and Cooper will kick off the 2019 high school volleyball season Tuesday, Aug. 6, with a crosstown showdown match at Abilene High’s Eagle Gym, and fans of both squads are being asked to help the community at large.

Both AHS and Cooper are once again teaming up to help homeless children in the AISD and are asking fans to donate school supplies, backpacks, gently used school-age clothing or make a donation when they enter the at the doors to Eagle Gym. Everything that is donated will be put to use by Darrin Cox, the Homeless Liaison for the AISD.

First serve for the varsity match is at 6 p.m. Tuesday with sub-varsity matches set to begin at 4 p.m.
