AISD choir students compete in TMEA Region 6 Virtual Auditions

ABILENE – Abilene ISD high school choir students auditioned for the Texas Music Educators Association Region 6 Virtual Choir Auditions.

Nine Abilene High School students were selected for the All-Region Choir:  Soprano I – Vicky Gao and Mira Savage; Soprano II – Mia Mirelez and Kylee Russell; Alto I – Hope Arrazola and Molly Mercer; Tenor II – Harrison Smith; and Bass I – Jordan Mathis and Alan Mercer.

Seven Cooper High School students were selected for the All-Region Choir:  Soprano I – Noa Moore and Julie Bewane; Alto I – Kyla Speights and Kadence Viel; Tenor II – Trevor Cox and Brayden Flores.

Nine Abilene High School students were selected for Pre-Area:  Soprano I – Vicky Gao and Mira Savage; Soprano II – Mia Mirelez and Kylee Russell; Alto I – Hope Arrazola and Molly Mercer; Tenor II – Harrison Smith; and Bass I – Jordan Mathis and Alan Mercer.

Two Cooper High School students were selected for Pre-Area:  Alto I – Kyla Speights; and Tenor II – Trevor Cox.

Five Abilene High School students were selected for Area:  Soprano II – Kylee Russell; Alto I – Hope Arrazola and Molly Mercer; Tenor II – Harrison Smith; and Bass I – Alan Mercer.

Two Cooper High School students were selected for Area:  Alto I – Kyla Speights; and Tenor II – Trevor Cox.

Kylee Russell, Abilene High School senior, placed 4^th chair at Area Auditions and was selected as a Soprano II to the TMEA All-State Women’s Choir.  Hope Arrazola, Abilene High School freshman, placed 2^nd chair at Area Auditions and was selected as an Alto I to the TMEA All-State Mixed Choir.  Molly Mercer, Abilene High School junior, placed 3^rd Chair at Area Auditions and was selected as an Alto I to the TMEA All-State Women’s Choir.  Harrison Smith, Abilene High School junior, placed 5^th chair at Area Auditions and was selected to the TMEA All-State Men’s Choir.

Trevor Cox, Cooper High School junior, placed 4^th chair at Area Auditions and was selected as a Tenor II to the TMEA All-State Men’s Choir.
