Inclement Weather Contingency Plan

ABILENE — More than 900 Abilene ISD seniors will walk the stage at Shotwell Stadium this weekend and collect their diplomas, graduating from high school after making it through the last 14 months of quarantine, remote learning and global pandemic.

ATEMS is scheduled to celebrate 72 graduates Friday at 8:30 a.m. at Shotwell Stadium. The northeast gate of the stadium will be the only gate open for the ATEMS graduation and it will open at 7:30 a.m. with everyone in attendance sitting on the east side of the stadium.

About 380 Cooper High School seniors will walk the stage at Shotwell Stadium Friday at 8 p.m. All gates to the stadium will open at 6:30 p.m. Finally, almost 500 Abilene High School seniors will receive their diplomas Saturday at a ceremony set to begin at 8 p.m. All gates to the stadium will open at 6:30 p.m.

The Abilene ISD will live stream each of the three ceremonies, and those who can’t attend in person can watch the ceremony of their choice at one of the links at the top of the page. In addition, the Abilene ISD has put together a plan for inclement weather and how it would affect each ceremony, and that plan can be viewed at the link at the top of the page.
