ABILENE – Both Abilene ISD high school marching bands competed in the UIL Region Marching Contest on October 18, 2021, at Wylie High School. Cooper High School earned a Division 1 Rating and qualified for the UIL Area Contest in Odessa, Texas, on October 23, 2021 where they placed 12th. Abilene High School also attended the Regional Contest.
Cooper High School competed in the Big Country Marching Festival on October 2, 2021, at Wylie High School and received a Division 1 rating. Abilene High School competed in BOA in Midland, Texas on October 2, 2021 and received a Division II rating.
On October 9, Cooper High School competed in the Concho Classic Marching Festival in San Angelo, Texas and received a Division 1 rating and “Outstanding Overall Percussion”.
The Cooper High School band is directed by John Landin, Jessica Fox, and Patrick Stevenson. The Abilene High School band is directed by Dr. Jon Kraemer, Alanna Curley, and Drew Young.
