Both Abilene High School and Cooper High School orchestra students competed in the University Interscholastic League Region Solo and Ensemble competition on Feb. 19.  AISD had students advance to the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest which will be held in May.

STATE SOLO QUALIFIERS:

Qualifying for the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest by earning a first division rating on a Class 1 memorized solo were Abilene High School orchestra students Ethan Dunn (violin), Frank Fang (cello), and Zoe Fowlkes (harp).

Qualifying for the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest by earning a first division rating on a Class 1 memorized solo were Cooper High School band students Dylan Garcia (violin), Brynn Bradshaw (bass), and Kaden Miller (bass).

Students are under the direction of Darcy Radcliffe and Fred Grigg.

CLASS 1 SOLO – 1ST DIVISION RATING:

Earning a first division rating on a Class 1 solo was Abilene High School orchestra student Trinity Bryant (bass).

Earning a first division rating on a Class 1 solo were Cooper High School orchestra students Derek Brindle (viola) and Aaron Reece (viola).

CLASS 2 SOLO – 1ST DIVISION RATING:

Earning a first division rating on a Class 2 solo was Abilene High School orchestra student Zoe Prescott (viola).

Earning a first division rating on a Class 2 solo were Cooper High School orchestra student Keith Porter (violin) and Jayden Palacios (bass).

CLASS 3 SOLO – 1ST DIVISION RATHING:

Earning a first division rating on a Class 3 solo were Abilene High School orchestra students Caitlyn Bowman (violin), Grace Kasberg (violin), and Zoe Wilson (cello).

Students are under the direction of Darcy Radcliffe and Fred Grigg.
