Abilene ISD is inviting on all military connected families to help celebrate Month of the Military Child with a free family picnic on April 26 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Clack Middle School

Food, music, and fun activities will be included at the event hosted by Clack, Dyess Elementary, and Cooper High School. Student and families of any school are invited. Clack Middle School is located at 1610 Corsicana St.

According to the Department of Defense Military Community and Family Policy website, April is designated as the Month of the Military Child to underscore the important role military children play in the armed forces community. The Month of the Military Child is a time to applaud military families and their children for the daily sacrifices and the challenges they overcome, the website states.
