After 15 years on the Hardin-Simmons University campus, Abilene ISD’s Holland Medical High School will move to a new location at the end of the 2024 spring semester. Even though it will no longer be on HSU’s campus, Holland Medical High School, named for HSU benefactors Scotty and Jacque Holland, will continue to educate high school students interested in health professions.

Eric Bruntmyer, president of HSU, shared, “For several months, HSU and AISD have been in close conversation to best address HSU’s need for more space to accommodate its growing College of Health Professions. We are grateful for our partnership with AISD, and we are excited for the opportunity that the opening of this space will provide for the expansion of the university’s health professions programs.”

Dr. David Young, Superintendent of AISD, stated, “We have enjoyed partnering with HSU to educate students in the Holland Medical High School program since 2008. We also understand that programming requirements change in education, and we are happy to work with HSU to accommodate their request.”

HSU and AISD, with their mutual focus on health professions, will both keep producing top-quality medical personnel who will add to the Abilene and West Texas workforce.
