The 2023 Teachers in the Limelight Celebration is coming soon.

Nominations are now open for the Abilene Education Foundation’s Teachers in the Limelight Celebration (TLC) awards. TLC honors the dedicated work of AISD faculty with campus recognition, a formal dinner, and a monetary award. These campus leaders possess integrity and a love for students that spills into the classroom with impact on students beyond campus walls. The dinner is underwritten by Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union.

The monetary awards for Math and Science nominees, campus honorees, as well as Math, Science, Elementary, and Secondary Teachers of the Year, are funded by the Edwin and Agnes Jennings Teaching Excellence Awards. The Fine Arts Teacher of the Year award is a partnership between AEF and the Abilene Philharmonic Association. The Coach and Counselor awards are made possible by the new JB and Winnie Gibbs Coaching and Counseling Fund. All honorees receive a monetary award gift.
