First Grade

First Grade Leaders!

First grade is a critical and exciting year.  The transition from kindergarten brings you into a world of learning to be an independent reader and a responsible learner.  The year is filled with fun activities in the classroom.  The children learn to use a variety of math manipulatives, they participate in various science experiments and learn to use the Accelerated Reader program.  We enjoy field trips to the planetarium, and to the Abilene Zoo.  Our first graders love becoming Reading Raiders!
