Look into our kindergarten rooms on any given day and you may see students:
patterning with unifix cubessorting a basket of socks
reading a class-written story
examining a real octopus
Young children learn best using all five of their senses. These hands-on learning experiences help our students develop basic skills and knowledge in the areas of reading, math, social studies and science. Whole group instruction and small group are part of our daily routine too. Learning “school skills” such as taking turns, cooperating with others, and making responsible choices is important in this first year of school.
We’ll take our learning on the road for adventures at May Farm, HSU’s Western Heritage Day, and the Abilene Zoo.
