Tyler Burton

Greetings, Craig Colts!

It is my honor to serve as one of your Assistant Principals. I am excited about this year and the many goals we will accomplish together. Craig is a special place, and I am dedicated to making it a welcoming, community-minded place of learning.

I received by Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education from ACU in 2011 and my Masters in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2017. I am currently a doctoral candidate at ACU in the Organizational Leadership program, have begun my dissertation work, and hope to finish soon! I have taught all high school social studies courses, all high school English courses, Algebra I, Algebra II, 8th grade U.S. History, and various electives. I began my teaching career in Hinesville, GA in 2012 before returning to Abilene ISD to serve at Madison Middle School and Woodson Center for Excellence. I moved into administration in the fall of 2018 at Purcell (Johnston) Elementary, where I served as an Assistant Principal for 2 years. Last year, I had the pleasure of moving back to the secondary education level as an Assistant Principal at Madison.

I am married to the most amazing and wonderful woman in the world, Elizabeth. She taught first grade for 6 years and now stays at home with our three kids. In our spare time, we love to travel and visit family.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email or phone if you have questions, concerns, or just want to chat! Let’s make it a great school year!
