Juan “Carlos” Rodriguez was hired by AISD in 2002 as Assistant Director of Maintenance. He became Physical Plant Maintenance Coordinator in 2011 and Director of Maintenance in 2015. Prior to coming to AISD Carlos was employed at Abilene Christian University and worked in various Maintenance positions beginning in 1971. He was Director of Physical Plant at ACU before coming to work at AISD.

Carlos Rodriguez is a graduate of Texas State Technical Institute in Waco, Texas with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology. He has taught air conditioning classes for Cisco Junior College and TSTC.

Carlos Rodriguez has been involved in numerous boards and commissions in Abilene which includes serving on the AISD Board of Trustees and Abilene City Council. He and his wife Connie have been married for 46 years and have three children and four grandchildren.

Rickey Wallace Rickey Wallace, Assistant Director

Rickey Wallace serves as the Assistant Director of Maintenance for the Abilene Independent School District. He graduated from Plainview High School, earned a Bachelor’s degree from Lubbock Christian University and a Master’s degree from Abilene Christian University. After serving fifteen years with the Abilene ISD as a teacher, coach, athletic coordinator and energy specialist, he accepted his current assignment as Assistant Director of Maintenance in 2015.
Rickey is married to Lee, a teacher with the Abilene ISD. He has two daughters, and they are both proud products of the Abilene ISD.
