Welcome to the Dyess Learning Resource Center
where "Words Take Flight in Books"
 
The LRC is open to students, parents, and teachers
daily from 7:50am until 3pm
 
On Mondays and Wednesdays the LRC is open until 3:30pm
so that students can stop by and take an AR Quiz

Students visit the LRC once a week with their class for a lesson time and to check out materials.
 
During the fall semester the students in Grades 3-5 have the opportunity to read the Texas Bluebonnet nominees and vote on their favorite in January.
 
In the spring students in grades K-2 will participate in the Mockingbird program, they will listen to 20 books selected by district librarians and vote for their favorite in May.
 
All students are encourages to participate in the AR Program; they can earn prizes by reading and quizzing on books.
 
Students have the opportunity to participate in the Million Word Reader celebration by reading one million words before May 6.
 
The library also hosts a Book Fair each school year.
