In 2nd grade, we are working to make the next step in becoming independent learners. Second grade students learn to be more responsible in their schoolwork and work they do at home.
We get to go to the science lab every week and participate in hands-on experiments to learn more about the world around us. In math, we learn how to add and subtract two digit numbers with and without regrouping, how to count money, work with graphs, and many other skills. In 2nd grade, we start going to the Reasoning Minds lab, where students are able to work at their own pace to learn new math skills.
Second grade students are learning to use problem-solving skills in all areas. They are challenged to “be thinkers” and come up with solutions to problems in all subject areas. We are having a great year tracking their success.
