This year all the schools in Abilene ISD are teaching students how to be safer online. Here are a few of the great websites that we use in the Computer lab:
Cyber Five ABCYA: An animated video aimed at younger students to help them learn about the Cyber 5 Rules to be safe online. (K-1st grade) http://www.abcya.com/cyber_five_internet_safety.htm

BRAINPOP: Tim and Moby discuss Online Safety, Blogs, CyberBullying, Digital Etiquette, Information Privacy, and Email/Instant Messaging (Have video, quiz, and related activities for each). (3rd-5th grade) www.brainpop.com

I KEEP SAFE: A great website full of information for parents on Internet Safety. There are videos and online books about how to keep safe on the internet. http://www.ikeepsafe.org/parents/
Netsmartzkids
NETSMARTZKIDS: This is a kid-friendly website where students can learn tips to stay safe online with Clicky and his friends. Also has internet safety videos and games. www.netsmartzkids.org

Facebook is not supposed to be used by people under 13. If Facebook discovers a user under 13, they will delete the profile.
