Students who have been removed from their home campuses for mandatory or discretionary severe disciplinary reasons attend school here.  Students are placed by an AISD  Disciplinary Hearing Committee and can serve up to 180 days in one school year.

This is a disciplinary program which focuses on basic core subjects and self-discipline. Students are actually withdrawn from their home campus and enrolled in the Opportunity Center. They follow a restrictive dress code, a behavior point system, have minimal movement between classes, and have constant staff supervision.

Transportation is provided by a DAEP bus; the hours are 8:15to 3:15.  These students may participate in programs provided by outside agencies that could include decision-making skills, choices, peer pressure, anger management, and drug prevention. Behavior interventions are provided on a regular basis for these students.
