My name is Donna Alexander, and it is a privilege and honor to join the Johnston Jaguars. My husband, James, and I moved our family to Abilene in July 2012 for his job initially, but also so that he could return to his roots as an Abilene native. We have four boys, Jarad, Payton, Connor, and Duncan. Our family loves the chance to get together and some of our favorite past times include hunting, fishing, camping, and enjoying the great outdoors.
I grew up in the military but settled in East Texas for most of my school years. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Tyler and began my teaching career in 2003 with Kilgore ISD as a 5th grade ELAR teacher. After moving to Abilene, I joined the Abilene ISD in August 2012, and taught 6th and 7th grade ELAR for Mann Middle School for six years. After receiving my Master’s degree in Educational Administration at Lamar University, I moved down the street to Ortiz Elementary serving as the Instructional Coordinator.
At Johnston Elementary, we are dedicated to academic excellence and preparing each child to be successful. I am passionate about developing positive relationships with our students and families. We are here for you and your family. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have.
