Mental Health

The HS/EHS Mental Health personnel are available on-site at both HS/EHS campuses. They are appropriately licensed and certified to provide mental health services to HS/EHS children, families and staff.  Mental Health services encompass three primary areas of focus:

(1) to work with HS/EHS children, individually and in small groups, to teach basic social/emotional/ behavioral/ self-regulation skills, and to address concerns raised by parents and staff related to those areas of development;

(2) to provide information, training and support to HS/EHS parents to facilitate healthy social/emotional development, to teach positive and healthy parenting skills, to address concerns about mental health concerns within their children and families; to ensure access additional mental health services for their children and family, and, when appropriate, to make referrals for additional mental health service from community health service providers; and

(3) to provide information, training and support to HS/EHS staff through regular contact both in and outside the classroom regarding the social/emotional development and behavioral concerns about children and families in their class, and to provide personal mental health support to staff their own mental health and family concerns, and when appropriate, to make referrals for additional mental health services from community health service providers.
