Lacey Henderson

Education: Tarleton State University, B.S. in English Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies (4-8).

This is my first year at Madison Middle School. I attended Abilene schools, starting at Reagan Elementary, then to Lincoln Middle School and Clack Middle School, before graduating from Cooper High School. I am married with two Middle School students of my own, 4 dogs, and lots of chickens! As a family, we love to travel and spend time outdoors. We spend time fishing, camping, hiking, and exploring as many State and National Parks as we can.

I am teaching Bridges Reading and English Language Arts in grades 6 and 7, and Texas History this year. I love history, reading, and writing! I get to show students how fun and interesting our history is and to teach students how to make writing easier and more accessible. I believe that each day is an opportunity for a fresh start and a chance to learn something new.

We do a few different projects/reports throughout the year, and, while my goal is for these to be completed during school hours, some students may need to complete work at home or during tutorials. I am available for Tutorials on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:45-8:15, and from 3:40-4:15. Students should always have a book, either from home or the library, with them at school.
