Jones, Shari

I was born and raised in Abilene. I was an Alta Vista Rooster, a Jefferson Coyote, a Cooper Cougar, and an HSU Cowboy.
I have been teaching since 1984.  All but three of those years have been in Abilene ISD. I have spent 14 of those years teaching first grade.
I have also taught kindergarten, second grade, DLL reading intervention program, Reading Success, READ 180 and System 44 . 2020-2021 is my sixth year teaching Leveled Literacy Intervention for kindergarten through second graders that need help reaching on-grade level reading abilities.
It is a joy to help children learn to be better readers. You will see amazing growth in your child’s reading abilities this year as we partner to help them sharpen their skills. Please encourage your child to read to or with you 15 minutes a day.
My husband, Alan, is the music teacher at Dyess Elementary. We are the proud parents of Griffin, who is a senior at Abilene Christian University.
Conference Period:
2:05 – 2:40
Be patient and encouraging as your child is learning to be a better reader.
