The LIFT Makerspace is a shared design and fabrication space open to all students and faculty to work on projects that inspire creativity, strengthen technical skills, and develop understanding.

The LIFT hosts the Academy of Technology, Engineering, Math, and Science, Abilene ISD's state-of-the-art home for STEM education. The mission of ATEMS is to provide a safe, challenging learning environment that emphasizes academic excellence in STEM education as well as the development of 21st century skills that are needed to be successful in STEM careers and post-secondary education.

Learning at The Lift
Director
Brandon Randell serves as Director of The LIFT and ATEMS Principal. An AISD graduate himself, he began his career in 2011 as a chemistry teacher and later served four years as Assistant Director at The LIFT and ATEMS. His experience also includes roles as an assistant principal at Cooper High School and adjunct professor at Cisco College.
Randell holds a bachelor’s degree from McMurry University and a master’s in educational leadership from Lamar University.
