School Bond Oversight Committee 2018

The 2018 Bond Oversight Committee will function as a sub-committee of the Master Facilities Planning Committee. Its task is to monitor the scope, cost, and timeline of the projects approved in the 2018 Bond Referendum. The 2018 Bond Oversight Committee will meet to receive reports on the status and implementation of the 2018 Bond Projects to determine whether the scope, cost and timing of work is consistent with the 2018 Master Facilities Plan which was crafted by the 2018 Master Facilities Planning Committee and ultimately approved by the voters of Abilene ISD.

Bond Oversight Committee Mission: To monitor the scope, cost, and timeline of each construction project included in the 2018 Bond Referendum.

Duties: (1) To receive reports on the status and planned implementation of the 2018 Bond Program; (2) To determine whether implementation is consistent with the Bond Program approved by the voters; and (3) To report findings of inconsistencies to the Board. The Committee informs and advises the Board but does not have decision-making authority.

Meetings: The Committee will meet quarterly or as requested by the school Board, Superintendent, or Committee Chair. Documentation presented to the Committee as well as meeting minutes for each meeting will be available on the district website.

Bond Oversight Committee Membership
The duration of the 2018 Bond Program is expected to be approximately 3.5 years. If Committee members are not able to serve to completion of the bond, new members may be added as appropriate.
