Partners in Education
A community that works together to blend its resources and enhance the quality of life is a community that grows and flourishes. Public education is a community responsibility. Partners In Education provides a vital link between the community and the schools.

The Partners In Education department actively seeks resources to fill the needs identified by campuses from the Adopt A School and Volunteers In Public School (VIPS) Programs. Community support is developed through a continuing process of relationship building with businesses, professional organizations, parents, churches, higher education, Dyess AFB, and the community. Students, patrons, families, and employees are the beneficiaries of extraordinary community support.

VIPS (Volunteers In Public Schools)
The VIPS program enables community members to come into the schools to share special talents and skills. Volunteers work with teachers and staff to enhance and enrich educational opportunities provided to AISD students.
Volunteers serve as classroom assistants, work with individual students as mentors or tutors, chaperone field trips, and assist in the nurse’s office and lunchroom. Volunteers also participate as Lunch Buddies, Junior Achievement, bulk mailings, recognition events, school stores, field days and many other special projects.

Each school has a VIPS Coordinator who works with the Partners In Education Coordinator to organize and manage the volunteer program. Coordinator responsibilities include recruiting: training, placing volunteers, monitoring and evaluating the program, recognizing volunteers at the campus level and attending VIPS Council meetings.

Parents, and grandparents who wish to volunteer on their child’s campus should contact the school office. Volunteers who do not have children in school should contact the Partners In Education office at 677.1444, x7300.

If you are interested in partnering with AISD, please contact Amanda Young, Partners in Education Coordinator at 677.1444, x7300.
