Physical Education activities are planned and conducted using the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) which is a guide for developing our curriculum with the proper alignment of scope and sequence. In addition to our physical activities, we address social and emotional learning and include it in our daily lessons.

At Reagan Elementary, all students participate in a Wellness running program that tracks the amount of miles each student completes throughout the school year in order to address cardiovascular health.  This program includes incentives for the students as they complete every 5 miles. Some other programs that our PE program includes, but isn’t limited to, are Kid’s Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart), 4th grade PE showcase, and 5th grade Track meet.

It is very important to us that your child wears shoes that will help them be safe.  Athletic type shoes with a closed heal and toe are appropriate.  Dress shoes, sandals, high soles, crocks, boots, and flip-flops are not considered safe for PE class. Your child may bring tennis shoes to change into if they should need to. Thank you for your help with this matter!
