Mrs. Taubert-Counselor

What do school counselors do?

School counselors are an integral part of the educational leadership team.

As a counselor, my goal is to provide a student-centered comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program in which all students are involved in activities that will enable them to reach their full potential.

The comprehensive, developmental guidance and counseling program in Texas public schools is an important component of the total educational program. It provides a systematic, planned approach for helping all students acquire and apply basic life skills by making optimal use of the special knowledge and skills of school counselors. The foundation of the program is to provide developmentally appropriate assistance for all students, and at the same time provide special assistance to those who need it.

As part of my responsibilities, I provide classroom guidance lessons, small group and individual counseling, and referral services. i also administer testing for our Gifted and Talented program and serve as the campus coordinator for our Response to Intervention (RTI) program, STAAR and TELPAS assessments.

Most importantly, I am here to serve as an advocate for your child. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. My door is always open!
