Fourth Grade

We are striving to become independent learners and to take responsibility for our own learning.  

Academically, we are learning to become creative writers who use voice and author’s craft to vividly express our ideas. In reading, we read several novels. We learn about inferencing, using context clues and the author’s purpose for writing different texts and to become good readers. In math, we continue to build on knowledge of place value and various math operations with all types of numbers. Our main focus is on multiplication and division and their applications. We continue to learn skills in geometry, data, and measurement. We will also be learning science and Texas history.

By the time we leave fourth grade, we are ready to take the challenge as successful learners in the fifth grade and beyond.
