I have been teaching kindergarten in room 1 of Taylor since 1994. I am married to Jim and he is also a teacher in AISD. We have 3 children–all married–and 9 precious grandchildren!
This may be the most important year of your child’s school life. Attitudes are begun that affect learning, perceptions are built regarding school, and children begin to see themselves as participants in the learning cycle. One of my most important jobs as your child’s teacher is to help your child learn to love coming to school. Children are natural learners, but if they do not want to be here they will never realize their potential. Kindergarten continues the learning process you began with your child. Besides our academics, we will learn to:
- Work and play together
- Respect the rights of others
- Listen, as well as speak
- Understand and follow directions
- Develop good work and study habits
- Clean up and care for our classroom
- Accept responsibility for our actions
WE ARE LEADERS and we do the right thing–even when no one is watching!
