Music

My name is Abby Alford and this is my second year at Thomas Elementary. I am very passionate about teaching music at the elementary level, and I am certain that each student is capable of comprehending, performing, and excelling in the music room. I believe that music is for everyone – regardless of any naturally born skill.

I graduated from Abilene Christian University in May of 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in oboe, my primary instrument. I began my teaching career in January of 2019 as the assistant band director at Clack and Madison Middle School. I teach oboe privately throughout the city of Abilene, and I continue to play frequently with different symphonies and performing ensembles in Abilene, Big Spring, and the surrounding area.
