First Grade

Welcome to First Grade at Ward Elementary! First Grade is a fun and exciting time for your Wildcat!

First Grade is a critical year of growth for your student! Students will learn to excel in reading and writing independently, learn to be a responsible learner, participate in a wide range of science experiments and dive into our world and it’s history in social studies!

In First Grade we will be taking 4 field trips where your child will get to experience the NCCIL, the Zoo, Western Heritage at HSU, and The Polar Express at the Abilene Historic Paramount Theater!

We are so excited for a fun filled year of learning and getting to watch your Wildcat grow! Go Wildcats!
