Gifted and Talented

The Abilene Independent School District offers instructional programs in kindergarten through grade twelve for students who are identified as gifted and talented in the area of general intellectual ability. The Gifted Education program works to enhance students learning by giving gifted learners the opportunities to extend and enrich their curriculum.  In all grades, one teacher is designated as the G/T teacher.  In third, fourth and fifth grade, where there is team teaching, all academic teachers that teach the gifted students are certified G/T teachers. Gifted students are provided a differentiated curriculum that occurs in content, process, and/or product.
