Abilene ISD Michael Fisher Abilene High Head Girls Soccer Coach

Abilene ISD announced Monday that Michael Fisher has been named the next head coach for the Abilene High School girls soccer program. Fisher brings eight years of coaching and leadership experience to the role.

“We’re excited to welcome Coach Fisher to Abilene High,” Principal Emme Siburt said. “I’m confident that he’ll continue to build a strong program that empowers our girls as leaders on the field and in the classroom.”

Fisher joined Abilene ISD in 2017 as head soccer coach at Craig Middle School, where he also teaches 7th grade Texas History and 8th grade U.S. History. For the past two years, he has served as the boys athletics coordinator at Craig.

“I am thrilled for the opportunity to lead the Abilene High girls soccer program,” Fisher said. “I look forward to meeting the team and seeing the success the upcoming year will bring.”

Fisher played collegiate soccer at Western Texas College, where he also earned an associate’s degree before completing his bachelor’s in education with an emphasis in composite social studies from Lubbock Christian University.
