Abilene ISD Pedro Encarnacion Abilene High Head Boys Soccer Coach

Abilene ISD is pleased to announce that Pedro Encarnacion has been selected as the next head coach for the Abilene High School boys soccer program. An Abilene High graduate, Encarnacion brings extensive coaching and teaching experience and is a well-known leader in the local soccer community. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Coach E to Abilene High,” Abilene High School Principal Emme Siburt said. “His deep roots in our community and his commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field make him a perfect fit for our athletics program.”

Encarnacion began his career in 2007 at Marble Falls High School where he taught Spanish and coached boys soccer. He later served in Gainesville ISD as a teacher, coach for boys soccer and cross country, and assistant principal. In 2010, he joined Abilene ISD as head girls soccer coach at Cooper High School, where he led the team to a regional tournament appearance and achieved a #4 state ranking by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches. 

In addition to his work in education, Encarnacion founded Club de Futbol Abilene in 2020, a nonprofit soccer club dedicated to developing young athletes in the Abilene area. He currently serves as President of the Big Country Soccer Association and has volunteered with several local organizations, including the Boys & Girls Club and YMCA.

“I am grateful and excited for the opportunity to lead the Abilene High boys soccer program,the school soccer program that I was once part of,” Encarnacion said. “Together with our families and talented athletes, I’m committed to fostering a culture of passion, teamwork, and success on and off the field.”

Encarnacion earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in coaching administration from McMurry University. While completing his degree, he coached the girls youth Olympic Development Program for two years. He holds a master’s degree in educational administration from Midwestern State University.
