Abilene ISD is pleased to announce Dusty Fahey as the new Program Officer for Crockett Early Head Start. Fahey, who currently serves as assistant director at Crockett EHS, brings nearly a decade of experience supporting the district’s youngest learners and their families.
“Dusty has been instrumental in making Crockett Early Head Start a place where our youngest learners and their families can thrive,” Superintendent Dr. John Kuhn said. “Her heart for families and her expertise make her a perfect fit to lead this important work.”
Fahey joined Crockett EHS as an associate teacher in 2015. She later served as a mentor teacher and master family advocate, supporting the social-emotional needs of Crockett students and helping families reach their goals and acquire basic needs. In 2024, she was promoted to assistant director, where she led efforts to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, managed staff performance and training, and helped develop strategic plans aligned with program goals.
“I am excited to move forward with my Crockett school family, and to encourage and help our students and staff grow,” Fahey said.
Fahey earned a bachelor’s degree in child development and family studies from Tarleton State University and a master’s in early childhood education from the American School of Education. She replaces outgoing program officer Christine Krause, who recently retired after 35 years of outstanding service to AISD learners and their families.
